Raise awareness of ERA
In early 2010 a project was established to develop and new logo and website for ERA, to help promote the aims and objectives of the ERA group, as well as provide a place to highlight its key achievements. The new logo came in effect in June 2010, with the website launched in July 2010.

Availability of ERA information electronically
The website is designed to provide information to interested parties – potential funding partners, ERA member Council staff and Elected Members and other interested stakeholders. The site will be regularly updated with recent news, achievements, goals and related documents.

Libraries
Baby boomers research on future library services
A recent study investigated the impact of the “baby boomer bubble” in the age profile of the Eastern Region, and the effect this will have on the future library services.
This research provided considerable insight into the changing needs of library patrons and aims to ensure that library services are kept contemporary and relevant.

Financial skills for the newly retired
A recent series of seminars, run in ERA libraries, provided common-sense training for new retirees wanting to get a better handle on their finances. The seminars covered reverse mortgages, family guarantees, superannuation, investment, insurance and more. A panel of experts was on hand to answer the many questions that arose.

Libraries promotion – postcards, billboards
There’s so much on offer at local libraries – so it’s important that people are reminded of the many options and opportunities available. The postcard and billboard program aims at keeping the awareness of libraries at the forefront – making sure that Council residents don’t overlook this fantastic local resource.
